Morning

From a late night to an early morning
Another long day ahead
My eyes barely open, I’m already tired
Though I just crawled out of bed

Sounds Like Home

Today I received a message on Facebook from a former high school classmate of mine whom I haven’t seen or heard from in many years. He told me a story which I was very happy to read. My friend wrote;

Hi Wayland,
I feel I must tell you a story. In about 1987, I visited England with a friend. The first morning after arriving, due to the time change I woke early in the hotel in London. It was probably about 5AM. I turned on the small radio on the nightstand beside the bed. It was June so the sun rises early and sets late at London. The radio was playing, as soon as I turned it on, a western song and had a male vocalist that sounded, well like home. After the tune had played, the radio announcer stated to my amazement, that the singer was Wayland Patton. This is remarkable in that, I had never heard your music on the radio in the USA, but it was the first music I heard when visiting the UK.

I guess you never know who might be listening somewhere out there in this big, small world.

Handmade Tortillas, Cold Margaritas

There were colored lights hanging from the ceiling. Pictures of cute dogs and Elvis framed and hung on the walls. Hot handmade tortillias, cold margaritas, and if I closed my eyes I could almost believe I was back home in Texas. Ah, Chuy’s. So glad you came to Nashville!

And So It Begins

Welcome to WaylandPatton.com! After a decade dedicated to overseeing my songwriting website, The Songwriter Forums, I decided it was time to move on. I thought I’d try blogging to see if I might have anything of value to contribute to the blogging universe. Time will tell.
